Canada to lift all Covid restrictions on September 30

Canada's last Covid-19 border restrictions will disappear at the end of the month with the expiration of a ministerial decree concerning mandatory vaccination, PCR testing and quarantine of international travelers. Sources confirm that the government plans not to renew it. The official announcement is expected shortly, in line with most Western countries.

This expiration also means the end of the obligation for travelers to use the ArriveCan to enter their vaccination status and test results, although the application will remain an optional tool for customs and immigration.

The decision does not yet cover the obligation to wear a mask on trains and domestic and international aircraft, as this rule is the subject of a separate decree published by the Minister of Transport.

International travelers will no longer have to prove that they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19. Under the current rule, unvaccinated returning Canadians must test negative for Covid-19 prior to arrival and undergo further testing after arrival. They must also be quarantined for 14 days.

Foreigners who are not vaccinated are currently banned from entering Canada, unless they belong to specific categoriesThese include airline and ship crews, people requiring essential medical treatment, diplomats and temporary foreign workers.
