Some destinations no longer apply strict sanitary measures following the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. In order to boost tourism and welcome more travelers, some governments have decided to abolish the requirement to present a vaccination schedule and PCR tests on departure or arrival. Here are the destinations for which sanitary measures are still in force.
Travelling in Europe : Most European countries no longer require travelers to undergo sanitary measures such as full vaccination, proof of PCR testing or quarantine.ย
Travelling in Asia : Most destinations no longer require health restrictions, with the exception of the following countries:ย
- Myanmar : PCR test less than 48 hours old for unvaccinated travellers
- China : Antigenic or PCR test less than 48 hours old. However, there are no restrictions on travel to Hong Kong and Macao.
- Japan: PCR test less than 72 hours old for unvaccinated travellers
- Nepal: PCR test less than 72 hours old for unvaccinated travellersย
- Pakistan : Only vaccinated travellers can travel. A PCR test less than 72 hours old must be presented on departure, and a test will be carried out on arrival. If your test result is positive, quarantine will be required.
- Philippines : Antigenic test of at least 24 hours, for unvaccinated travellers. If positive, quarantine will be requested.
Travelling in Africa : For the following destinations, a PCR or antigen test less than 72 hours old will be required on departure or arrival: Comoros, Central African Republic, Cรดte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mali, Niger, Sao Tome and Principe.. This measure applies to unvaccinated travelers. There are exceptions for certain countries:ย
- Angola : Only vaccinated travellers can travel. A PCR or antigen test less than 48 hours old will also be required.ย
- Burkina Faso : PCR test less than 5 days old must be performed for unvaccinated travellers and children under 12.
- Ghana : Only vaccinated travellers can travel.
- Equatorial Guinea : Only vaccinated travellers can travel + PCR test less than 48 hours before departure
- Mozambique : PCR test less than 72 hours old + antigenic test on arrival. If the result is positive, a 7-day quarantine will be required.
- Zimbabwe: PCR test less than 48 hours old + test on arrival and 5 days before departure, for unvaccinated travellers
- Togo : Test at least 5 days before departure + test on arrival and 5 days before departure for unvaccinated travellers
Travelling in America: The countries listed below still impose health restrictions on their future travellers:ย
- United States: Since February 08, 2023, the U.S. government has wanted all travelers to have a complete vaccination schedule to enter and travel in the United States. Children under 18 are exempt from vaccination. It has been announced that this restriction will probably no longer be in force as of May 11.
- Bolivia : PCR or antigen test less than 72 hours old, for unvaccinated travellers
- Brazil : Antigen test less than 24 hours old for unvaccinated travellers and children under 12.
- Chile : PCR test less than 48 hours old for unvaccinated travellers
- Cuba : Random PCR test on arrival with quarantine if positive
- Venezuela : PCR test less than 72 hours old, for unvaccinated travellers
The conditions for traveling to different destinations may therefore vary according to your vaccination status. It is therefore advisable to check your travel requirements a few days before departure. These health measures may change as the pandemic evolves. You may also want to check with your airline about entry requirements, as some governments add or remove health restrictions depending on the evolution of Covid-19.ย
