End of Covid-19 restrictions in Guinea, Kenya and Chile

Travellers entering the Kenya through any port of entry will no longer be required to present a COVID-19 vaccination certificate or proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

On the advice of the WHO, the Kenyan Ministry of Health has reviewed travel restrictions linked to COVID-19. Kenya has seen a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases over the past three months, as well as a drop in the overall positivity rate from a weekly average of 2.5 % in mid-January 2023 to a weekly average of 0.5 % in the last week of April.

According to the Ministry of Health, only travelers entering Kenya through any point of entry with flu-like symptoms will have to fill in the passenger location form on the "Jitenge". On arrival, they will also have to pay for an antigen test. Those with a positive antigen test must undergo another PCR test at their own expense. People with severe symptoms may be asked to isolate themselves.

On May 5, the Guinea also lifted the last COVID-19 restrictions.

Like Kenya, the Chile followed the WHO's recommendations the day after the end of the pandemic was announced. The "Protected borders"has been cancelled by the Ministry of Health. The requirement for a PCR test on entry into the country, the COVID-19 immunization certificate and the random testing of travelers provided for in the plan have been dropped.

It remains essential to maintain the health reflexes learned during the pandemic, such as frequent hand washing, ventilation of closed rooms and use of masks in case of respiratory symptoms.
