India is back to "normal" consular life. After months of stoppage, and a few diplomatic responses, the former British colony is once again allowing British citizens to apply for an e-Visa, as confirmed by the Indian High Commission in Great BritainThe rumours had been circulating since the World Travel Market from London last week.
As a reminder, India had not appreciated the restrictions put in place by the British government against its nationals, implying "unofficial" reciprocity when the e-Visa was brought back online last year.
This good news is accompanied by seven other countries: Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. They too can now apply for e-Visas for India.
On the other hand, no news from Canada, whose citizens still have to apply for a classic visa at the embassy while waiting for news of the e-Visa.
