Philippines: border reopening scheduled for February 10

Foreign nationals from 157 fully-vaccinated, visa-exempt countries (including France) will be able to travel to the Philippines again from February 10, 2022, announced the Philippine government.

The country of 7,000 islands has decided to follow in the footsteps of its neighbors, such as Thailand and Indonesia, by suspending the classification of countries based on health indicators. As tourism in the Philippines has also taken a beating as a result of the health crisis, the destination is finally turning towards a resumption of activity, much to the delight of travellers, but also of the local government.

In order to fly to Manila (for the time being, all arrivals are at the capital's airport), French travelers will have to present the negative result of an RT-PCR test carried out less than 48 hours before departure. It will also be essential to carry "International Vaccination Certificate” (ICV) issued by the WHO, but also a Philippine vaccination certificate or an electronic vaccination certificate recognized by the Philippine authorities.

Travel insurance covering Covid-19 is compulsory, as is a return ticket to your home country and a passport valid for at least six months. Upon arrival, travelers are required to carry out symptom self-monitoring until the 7th day after arrival.
