Since May 17, 2021, French tourists have been allowed to visit Portugal. Good news: antigenic tests are now authorized for the French, so PCR tests will no longer be mandatory.
The summer vacations are approaching and Portugal has decided to continue lifting the restrictions on Covid-19.
On June 11, 2021, the Algarve Tourist Board stated that airlines will only have to allow passengers to board flights to Portugal on presentation of a negative RT PCR or rapid antigen test. These tests must be carried out within 72 or 24 hours prior to boarding.
The aim is also to reduce the cost of travel, particularly in the Algarve," explains João Fernandes, President of the Algarve Tourist Board.
The country continues to implement strict measures to combat the virus and protect tourists and residents.
