The Australian airline is organizing occasional mystery flights over the next few months. There will be three flights aboard the Boeing 737-800 departing from Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.
The first mystery flight will depart from Brisbane on Saturday March 27. The second flight will depart from Sydney on Sunday, April 18. Finally, Melbourne will see its flight operate on Saturday May 1. However, these are not just flights to mystery destinations. Qantas is committed to organizing a day of discovery upon landing. Being a mystery flight, the Australian airline will not communicate about your destination, but they will give you clues: "bring a coat or flip-flops". Qantas indicates that the mystery destinations will be short-haul, taking around two hours to reach.
Stephanie Tully, Chief Customer Officer of Qantas Group, says: "As well as helping to get more of our employees back to work, these mystery flights are another way of supporting tourism operators in regional areas in particular, who have been particularly hard hit by several waves of travel restrictions."
