Russia: a multiple-entry electronic visa?

While Russia has decided to unify its electronic visa throughout its territory from January 1, 2021, Ivan Volynkin, Director of the Consular Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces that the electronic visa may very soon become multiple-entry.

At present, the Russian electronic visa is a single-entry visa valid for 60 days from the date of issue. It entitles foreign tourists to 16 days on Russian territory.

What's more, the director adds: "We anticipate that, following the lifting of the restrictions on entry to Russia imposed earlier by the Russian government, citizens of 112 states will be able to enter the Russian Federation without the need for a paper visa in their passport."
