Sri Lanka plans to open its airport to all international travellers on December 26. awaiting official confirmation from the Sri Lankan authorities. 500 tourists a day will be allowed onto Sri Lankan soil.
International travellers must follow certain rules to limit the spread of COVID-19 in Sri Lanka:
- A PCR test must be carried out 72 hours before your arrival in the country, a second test as soon as you arrive and a third test on the seventh day of your trip.
- A seven-day quarantine is mandatory, and they will have to stay in one of the 58 hotels located in the south of the island.
- Medical insurance is compulsory.
- The minimum stay is 14 days.

The Sri Lankan government has taken steps to support the tourism industry by offering tax incentives and soft loans to tourism businesses, as well as launching a tourism promotion campaign to support the resumption of activity once health conditions allow.
