Cameroon's handball players have been excluded from the Olympic qualifying tournament currently taking place in Hungary due to visa problems.

Citizens of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) can now travel to Cameroon without having to apply for a visa. This decision concerns citizens of Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Central African Republic and Chad.

Cameroon has recently set up a new official platform dedicated to issuing e-visas for foreign travelers wishing to visit the country. However, this initiative is facing a number of tensions and difficulties that are hampering its smooth operation.

Since the launch of the Cameroon authorities' new official e-Visa application site on April 30, many users have reported problems finalizing their payments.

As we told you a few days ago, Cameroon has finally started rolling out its electronic visa, and has announced an official launch date: April 30, 2023.

It took almost 26 years! In 1997, Cameroon was one of the first countries to consider the introduction of electronic visas to streamline visitor flows and boost administrative efficiency.

Those who have already had the misfortune to be confronted with the complexities of consular procedures with Cameroon will be delighted by their government's announcement: Cameroon will be introducing the e-Visa concept this month.
