On August 8, the Department of Consular Affairs announced a significant reduction in the documents required to obtain a tourist visa. From now on, applicants will no longer be required to provide a photo of them with their passport open nor theDeclaration Formequivalent to the conditions of use of the e-Visa system.

Visa Exemption for Certain Tourists

Tourists from France and many other countries benefit from visa exemption for stays of up to 30 days, which can be extended for a further 30 days on site.

In response to growing demand, the time taken to issue visas, currently around one month, is set to be reduced. The ministries concerned are working on a more efficient online verification system, which promises to speed up the process considerably.
