After suffering several events over the past two years, including a health crisis and a socio-economic crisis, Sri Lanka has been returning to normal for the past few days. Tourism is gradually picking up, and more and more international travellers are arriving. The question of health measures in the country was a problem, but solutions were put in place by the authorities.
โก๏ธ What are the new health measures?
Since December 7, sanitary measures have been abolished for all travelers arriving in Sri Lanka, and these changes are now in effect. Everyone, whether vaccinated or not, must no longer present a vaccination certificate or PCR test less than 72 or 48 hours old. The Sri Lankan authorities no longer distinguish between travellers with a complete vaccination schedule and those who are not fully vaccinated, or even those who have not received a single dose.
If you test positive for Covid-19 during your stay in Sri Lanka, you will need to stay in isolation for 7 days in a hospital, hotel or private residence.
โก๏ธ What are the travel formalities for visiting Sri Lanka?
A traveller may enter the country with a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in the country. A ETA travel authorization must also be applied for prior to arrival in Sri Lanka. This e-visa can be obtained online following an application for a tourist stay of 30 or 180 days, a travel'business or a transit.
