This would make it easier for highly-skilled workers to stay in the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Digital nomads\" can work anywhere in the world as long as they have an Internet connection. Many freelancers or people affiliated to foreign companies, for example working in software development or web design, adopt this type of practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are approximately <strong>35 million<\/strong> of \"digital nomads\" in the world, and the related expenditure is estimated at 787 billion dollars a year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although nationals of 69 countries and regions of the world can enter Japan without a visa, they can only stay for 90 days. According to several overseas surveys, 66% of digital nomads stay in the same place for three to six months, which is why a<strong> special visa<\/strong> allowing you to stay <strong>more than 90 days<\/strong> is being considered. Currently, people wishing to work in Japan for more than 90 days must obtain a work visa. However, people who receive a salary from a foreign company are not eligible: workers must receive income from a company with a base in Japan to obtain this work visa.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the action plan for restoring foreign visitors to Japan to pre-pandemic levels, the government should clarify issues involving the arrival of \"digital nomads\", such as visa issues, status of <strong>residence<\/strong> and others <strong>institutional approaches<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some countries in Europe, Central America and South America, for example, have introduced specific visas for this type of application, with the possibility of staying in these countries for a period of up to three months. <strong>from six months to two years. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Japanese government hopes to stimulate consumption by foreign visitors to Japan.
