The first tourists to benefit were Chinese in a \"pilot\" program. They arrived in the country on August 25.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>These Chinese \"beta-testers\" still had to go to the Shanghai visa office before traveling to the Philippines, but the process is temporary and should be 100% electronic from now on.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese tourists are the most numerous visitors to the Philippines, and account for a significant share of the country's tourism revenue. <em>The launch of e-Visa is therefore good news for Philippine tourism.<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Fully deployed by the end of the year for all nationalities requiring a visa, the e-Visa for the Philippines is valid for a period of <strong>30-day stay<\/strong>. It can be requested on the <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinetravel.meco.org.tw\/EVISA\/\">Philippine Immigration Office website<\/a>. India, Algeria and Egypt require a visa for the Philippines and will be the next countries to benefit from this advantage.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"1:1-1:100\">In 2023, nationals of the following countries must apply for a visa to enter the Philippines: <em>Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia-Herzegovina, China, Cuba, Egypt, Georgia, India, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Montenegro, Nauru, Nigeria, North Korea, North Macedonia, Pakistan, Palestine, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Taiwan, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Ukraine, Yemen.<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On August 24, 2023, the Philippines launched its new e-Visa program, enabling nationals of countries where a visa is required to apply for a visa online.
