Travelers from these countries can now stay in Costa Rica for a maximum period of <strong>180 days (6 months)<\/strong> without needing a visa, compared with 90 days previously.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>New visa regulations for Costa Rica<\/h2>\n<p>To stimulate tourism and support the national economy, Costa Rica has decided to follow the example of its neighbor El Salvador and extend the visa-free stay to 180 days. <strong>This applies to travellers from the 58 countries already included in Group 1. <\/strong>General guidelines on entry and residence visas for non-residents.<\/p>\n<p>According to data provided by the General Directorate of Migration and Immigration, this measure is primarily aimed at visitors who generate the most income for the country, and thus make a positive contribution to boosting the national economy.<\/p>\n<h3><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-14992\" src=\"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/74da3a13-41c8-408b-b241-24f46ed0e46b-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Conditions and restrictions related to this change<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The entry permits granted to visitors concerned by this measure are intended solely for the purposes of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">tourist<\/span> Or <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">commercial<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>It is forbidden to work for pay or to settle as a permanent resident in Costa Rica.<\/li>\n<li>The length of stay granted to visitors is determined by the immigration entry control officer, and can vary between 10, 15, 30, 90 or up to a maximum of 180 calendar days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>List of countries covered by this visa-free extension<\/h2>\n<p>Nationals of the following Group 1 countries and territories can now stay visa-free for up to 180 days: <em>Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Puerto Rico, Portugal, Czech Republic, Romania, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad &amp; Tobago, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Vatican City.<\/em><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Costa Rica has recently increased the length of visa-free stay for nationals of 58 countries, including France, Belgium, Canada and the USA.
