However, they will need to obtain a <strong>electronic travel authorization (ETA)<\/strong> before entering the country.<!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>End of visas to facilitate access to Kenya<\/h2>\n<p>THE <strong>Kenya<\/strong>considered the cradle of humanity thanks to its archaeological riches, will open its doors wide to tourists from all over the world by abolishing visas from January 2024. This historic decision, announced by President William Ruto on the occasion of the country's national holiday <em>Jamhuri Day<\/em>is designed to make it easier to welcome visitors to their \"home\" without administrative constraints.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Abolition of visas :<\/strong> from January 2024, all foreign visitors to Kenya will be visa-free.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Introduction of an electronic travel authorization :<\/strong> Despite the visa waiver, travelers will need to obtain an electronic travel authorization prior to their stay.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Development of a digital platform :<\/strong> the Kenyan government is setting up a platform to pre-identify travellers wishing to visit Kenya (<em>url not yet revealed<\/em>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"entry-content-asset\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">President William Ruto: Beginning January 2024, Kenya will be a visa-free country. Visitors will need to obtain a <strong>electronic travel authorization (ETA)<\/strong> before traveling to Kenya. President William Ruto has announced the creation of a digital platform that will enable future travelers to apply for this authorization.<\/p>\n<p>Its amount should be 4600 KSH (<span class=\"currency-convertor\" data-amount=\"4600\" data-currency=\"KES\">31 &#8364;<\/span>) and ultimately bring in more money for the Kenyan government than the current visa for a few nationalities.<\/p>\n<h2>Awaiting publication of official decrees and activation of electronic platform<\/h2>\n<p>Before planning a trip to Kenya, wait for the publication of the official decrees and the activation of the next digital platform for electronic travel authorization.
