{"id":18824,"date":"2024-04-29T08:47:38","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T06:47:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/?p=18824"},"modified":"2024-04-29T08:47:38","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T06:47:38","slug":"sri-lanka-single-entry-visa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/en\/blog\/sri-lanka-visa-entree-unique\/","title":{"rendered":"Sri Lanka reintroduces more affordable single-entry e-Visa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sri Lankan government has approved the reintroduction of a single-entry visa for tourists, following an outcry from tourism professionals and foreigners. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/en\/blog\/sri-lanka-evisa\/\">following the switch from ETA to e-Visa<\/a> and the drastic increase in consular fees.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This decision was taken by the Cabinet of Ministers at its meeting on Thursday, April 25, 2024, taking into account the recommendations of those involved in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The new single-entry visa system will <strong>implemented by June 2024<\/strong> after a final vote in May.<\/li>\n<li>Single-entry visas will be valid for 30 days and can be issued online or on arrival.<\/li>\n<li>The cost of a single-entry visa would be 35 USD, excluding VFS fees + transaction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the introduction of a single-entry visa, multiple-entry visas will continue to be available, mainly for digital nomads and frequent visitors.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Tourism, <strong>Harin Fernando<\/strong>The Minister explained that the ETA system had security flaws, notably the possibility of creating false accounts.
