Many destinations in Africa, Asia, North America and many others are waiting to be discovered for our greatest pleasure!

We chose to interview Vincent to share his vision of tourism and his feelings about the changes brought about by the health crisis:

What has changed for you over the past year?

So, the first big change (as for many people!) was not being able to travel anymore.
I usually travel every 2 to 3 months to feed the blog and advise people on new destinations.
I had just returned from a long list of things to do in Dubai and Taiwan when the crisis broke and the first confinements took place.
Since then, in the wake of the various measures taken in the various countries, other travel plans have been cancelled.
I miss traveling a lot, but I consider myself very lucky because I live in a place where the weather is nice and warm all year round, and where you can enjoy the sea and beautiful walks in the open air.
Not being able to leave also enabled me to complete certain projects and develop new ones, again in the tourism field.
In the end, I made much more progress than if I had alternated with periods of travel. I can see the positive side!

How did you keep your blog going during this period? diversification of topics? posts from past trips?

This period allowed me to write some articles that were on my list and that I had been planning to do for a while.
I've also focused on accessible destinations, offering increasingly detailed content.
We need to keep abreast of what's going on in other countries in order to offer the right content.
I also took the opportunity to update some older travel articles to be ready for the resumption of tourism.

How do you see tourism recovering in the months/years ahead?

I'm hoping for a return to normal in 2022.
I believe that people's desire to travel is very strong, and that as soon as the indicators are in the green, tourism will pick up normally, and certainly even more strongly.
As I saw this summer with the number of visits to the blog, even at the height of the epidemic, people need a change of scenery and don't hesitate to leave as soon as a destination opens up to tourism.
And as a travel blogger, it's good to see that the need to travel is still there, and that people are ready to adapt to certain constraints in order to discover new places.

Do you plan to return to the adventure once the situation has calmed down? If so, could you tell us more about it? (We promise we won't follow you.... Whatever!)

Of course you can! I can't wait!
After the past year, I'm even more aware of the need to travel in my life.
For example, over the past few years I've got into the habit of going to China twice a year on my own, and I can assure you that I really missed not taking this break in 2020!
I'm always keen to explore beautiful places, experiment with food (for better or for worse!) and discover new cultures.
It may be a bit "boaty" but travel really is a way to enrich yourself and I can't wait to share my tips on new destinations with Voyage Tips readers!

A destination you'd like to discover?

I'm looking forward to discovering even more of China - it's such a vast country!
I'd also love to visit Japan (which should have been on this year's program) and the western United States.
In Europe, the next country will certainly be Croatia, because I should have gone there in 2020 and I'm planning to make up for it! The itinerary is already set!

Feel free to visit the Blog Travel Tips to find out more about Vincent's adventures!

Passionate about travel since the age of 21, Vincent has chosen to share his experiences by creating his blog Voyage Tips, in which he shares his advice and tips for a successful trip.
