From 2025, EU citizens and other non-Irish and non-UK nationals wishing to cross the border between the Republic of Ireland and Ireland<\/span> du Nord<\/span> must obtain a ETA (electronic travel authorization)<\/strong> in line with the new rules proposed by the British government.<\/p>\n

These new rules are part of the new Nationality Bill and post-Brexit immigration borders.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To date, this move by the British government has been seen as a \"hardening\" of the border, and has been poorly received by the public. Indeed, denounced as \"impracticable\" at the Irish border, the thousands of people commuting<\/p>\n

\"\"in both directions for schools, labor and purchasing are indeed skeptical about the implementation of this document.<\/p>\n

To reassure citizens, the Minister of Immigration Kevin Foster<\/strong> declared that the ETA would be a simple authorization, obtained online, and that like the U.S. Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA)<\/a>It would take several years. Furthermore, the UK will not check documents at the border. We simply want to create a quick and easy process<\/strong> with as little impact as possible on people's daily lives.<\/p>\n
