This decision, taken in consultation with the Ivorian authorities, is part of a strategy to reinforce control of migratory flows and combat identity theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Measure duration and objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The reintroduction of the visa requirement is scheduled to last for one year. <strong>2-year trial period<\/strong>. The Ivorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Ivorians Living Abroad explained that the main aim of this measure is to :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enhancing the credibility of the Ivorian passport on the international stage<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Combating identity theft and fraudulent use of Ivorian documents<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improving the management of migration flows between C\u00f4te d'Ivoire and Morocco<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Categories of exempt travellers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ivorian Ministry has made it clear that certain categories of travelers are exempt from this new visa requirement. These exemptions concern :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ivorians holding diplomatic or service passports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Moroccan residence permit holders<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Beneficiaries of Schengen, United Arab Emirates, United States or Canadian visas<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Accuracy of<strong>Abdelmalek Kettani<\/strong>Morocco's Ambassador to C\u00f4te d'Ivoire, to Visamundi: \"<em>Ivorian travellers in transit at Casablanca airport to other destinations do not need a visa as long as they do not intend to leave the international zone during their transit time.<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practical details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For Ivorian nationals requiring a visa, the application procedure must be carried out at the following offices <a href=\"https:\/\/diplomatie.ma\/fr\/annuaire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Moroccan diplomatic representations<\/a> in C\u00f4te d'Ivoire. Applicants must provide the following documents:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A valid passport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A completed visa application form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of reservation of accommodation in Morocco<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A round-trip plane ticket<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Proof of sufficient financial means for the duration of the stay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Costs and lead times<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The cost of a Moroccan visa for Ivorian nationals has been set at <strong>14,000 FCFA<\/strong> (<span class=\"currency-convertor\" data-amount=\"14000\" data-currency=\"XOF\">21 &#8364;<\/span>) for a single-entry visa and <strong>FCFA 22,000<\/strong> (<span class=\"currency-convertor\" data-amount=\"22000\" data-currency=\"XOF\">34 &#8364;<\/span>) for a multi-entry visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Application processing times may vary, but it is recommended to apply at least 2 weeks before the planned date of travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nationalities exempt from visa requirements for Morocco<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>More <strong>70 countries<\/strong> benefit from visa-free entry to Morocco for stays of up to 90 days (unless otherwise stated).
