From April 2, 2025, this new requirement will become mandatory for travel within the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today marks another milestone in the reform of UK border controls. It costs&nbsp;<strong>10 \u00a3<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With an approved ETA, you can come to the UK to :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tourism<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visiting family and friends<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Short-term studies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Even for transit (if you pass through border control)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is affected by British ETA?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From April 2, 2025<\/strong>In the UK, all visa-exempt travellers, whether from Europe or elsewhere, will need a valid ETA to enter the UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As of today, citizens of the&nbsp;<strong>34 European countries and territories<\/strong>&nbsp;The following are eligible to apply for an ETA:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Vatican City.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Nationals of&nbsp;<strong>54 countries<\/strong>&nbsp;The following had already been eligible for electronic travel authorization for several weeks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Hong Kong, Israel, Japan, Kiribati, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Mexico, Micronesia, Nauru, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Oman, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Qatar, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, Taiwan, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, United Arab Emirates, United States and Uruguay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Which travellers are exempt from ETA?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite this widespread use of the system,&nbsp;<strong>certain categories of travellers remain exempt from ETA<\/strong>&nbsp;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Travelers holding a valid UK visa or a UK residence, work or study permit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>British and Irish citizens: the free movement agreement between Ireland and the UK remains unchanged.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>French school groups travelling under certain conditions, thanks to a temporary exemption granted by London.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transit passengers who do not pass through British immigration control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visitors holding British Overseas Territories passports.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Irish residents traveling to the UK from Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I obtain an ETA for the United Kingdom?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The request is made\u00a0<strong>online<\/strong>via the official website<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/\"> <\/a>from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/\">British government<\/a>\u00a0or the dedicated \"UK ETA\" mobile app available on iOS and Android devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply for an ETA, travelers must provide :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A&nbsp;<strong>biometric passport<\/strong>&nbsp;valid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;<strong>photo<\/strong>&nbsp;recently.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From&nbsp;<strong>personal information<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A&nbsp;<strong>payment of \u00a310<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Approval is generally rapid,\u00a0<strong>often taking less than 72 hours<\/strong>However, the authorities recommend anticipating the procedure to avoid any last-minute complications.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From today, EU citizens can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to enter the UK.
