The launch of Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) in the UK is already attracting a massive influx of applications from Europeans, with digital queues forming even before it officially comes into force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of yesterday, March 5, 2025, European nationals can start applying for their ETA for trips planned after April 2, 2025. This early opening of applications is intended to prevent a massive last-minute influx, and to enable smoother processing of authorizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The UK Home Office expects over 30 million travellers to use the ETA system each year<\/strong>. This colossal estimate augurs well for large digital queues, especially during the first months of implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It takes more than 10 minutes to access the official form. You then have 25 minutes to complete the request, or the form will expire.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

To meet this demand, the British government has set up a mobile application \"UK ETA\" (Google Android<\/a> Or iOS<\/a>) and a dedicated web portal. These platforms are designed to handle requests quickly, with automatic responses within minutes in many cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the standard processing time is 3 working days. Travelers are therefore encouraged to submit their requests well in advance to avoid delays in their travel plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to note that the system does not save data in the event of an interrupted session.<\/span>. Applicants should therefore be prepared to complete their application all at once to avoid losing their place in the digital queue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
