As of April 1, 2025, Namibia will require a visa for citizens of 33 countries.<\/strong>including several European and Western nations, due to the principle of diplomatic reciprocity. Requests can be made via a new online e-Visa system<\/a><\/strong>. The fee for non-African countries is 1,600 N$ (approx. \u20ac82). The visa is valid for 30 days, with multiple entries. Namibia is re-evaluating its visa-free entry agreements with countries deemed \"non-reciprocal\", where Namibian citizens are required to obtain a visa while their nationals could enter Namibia freely. The Namibian government now requires visas from 33 countries, including France, Belgium, Switzerland, the USA, Canada and Australia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The e-visa is recommended <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To make things easier, Namibia has modernized its visa system with an e-Visa platform <\/strong>launched on March 3, 2025. More than 10,000 e-visas have since been approved. The procedure is entirely dematerialized via the official portal, enabling tourists and business travelers of 90 nationalities to reduce delays and simplify procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The price of the visa varies according to the nationality and age of the traveler.<\/strong>. For visitors aged 12 and over, it costs 1,600 N$ (approx. \u20ac82) for citizens of non-African countries and 1,200 N$ (approx. \u20ac62) for those from African countries. For children aged 6 to 11, the fees are 800 N$ (approx. \u20ac41) and 600 N$ (approx. \u20ac31) respectively. Children under 6 are exempt from visa fees. The visa is valid for 30 days from the date of arrival, with multiple entries. A daily visit fee of 300 N$ (approx. \u20ac16) applies to cruise passengers arriving in Walvis Bay and L\u00fcderitz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Visa on arrival still available<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In addition to e-Visa, Namibia continues to offer a visa on arrival<\/strong> in several major ports of entry, but the authorities recommend that you use the e-Visa. Entry points may differ depending on whether you choose to obtain an e-visa or a visa on arrival. It is therefore strongly recommended that you plan your trip in advance and find out which entry points are accessible according to your approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
