Good news for travelers from Reunion Island: it is now possible to travel to Mauritius only with a French national identity card (CNI), until June 30, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This exemption, renewed by the Mauritian authorities<\/a>facilitates tourist stays for French residents of La R\u00e9union, both adults and children. Some of our customers have been referred to this scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A simplified system for island tourism<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since June 2023, Reunionnese wishing to treat themselves to a getaway in Mauritius can enjoy easier access to the destination: a passport is no longer required to enter Mauritius for a tourist stay of more than 2 nights<\/span>. A valid CNI is now sufficient, provided that the trip begins in La R\u00e9union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People whose home address is clearly shown on their identity card will not need to go through any additional formalities. If this is not the case, all they need to do is present a recent document proving their residence in La R\u00e9union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u203c\ufe0f Please note, however, that travellers must comply with all the usual immigration requirements in Mauritius: return ticket, proof of means, travel insurance and proof of accommodation are essential. Lastly, we remind you that no paid activity may be carried out during the stay, under penalty of sanctions.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE parents traveling with minor children<\/strong> must provide their birth certificate or family record book to immigration on arrival. For children traveling alone from La R\u00e9union, a parental attestation - including a photo - must be presented.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Every year, almost 150,000 people from R\u00e9union choose Mauritius as their vacation destination. This administrative simplification represents an additional advantage: last-minute departures, large families or forgotten passports... the barriers are down to make it easier to enjoy the beaches, charms and warm welcome of Mauritius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Travellers from mainland France do not benefit from the \"Mauritius without a passport<\/em>\"Residents of La R\u00e9union are still required to present a valid passport to enter Mauritius, even for a tourist stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
