{"id":7021627,"date":"2025-11-03T16:00:59","date_gmt":"2025-11-03T15:00:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/?p=7021627"},"modified":"2025-11-03T16:01:13","modified_gmt":"2025-11-03T15:01:13","slug":"jersey-always-allows-entry-with-a-valid-french-identity-card","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/en\/blog\/jersey-permet-toujours-dentrer-avec-une-carte-didentite-francaise-valide\/","title":{"rendered":"Jersey still allows entry with a valid French identity card"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here's some feedback from my visit to Jersey this weekend (10\/31 -&gt; 11\/1 2025): a sign in front of immigration control still seems to allow French nationals with a valid CNI (carte nationale d'identit\u00e9) to enter the Channel Island of Jersey for the day, from France only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What the <strong>Jersey Government<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignright size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"724\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/jersey_filigrane-724x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7021629\" style=\"width:396px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/jersey_filigrane-724x1024.jpg 724w, https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/jersey_filigrane-212x300.jpg 212w, https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/jersey_filigrane-768x1086.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/jersey_filigrane-1086x1536.jpg 1086w, https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/jersey_filigrane-1448x2048.jpg 1448w, https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/jersey_filigrane-8x12.jpg 8w, https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/jersey_filigrane-scaled.jpg 1810w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 724px) 100vw, 724px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>French nationals<\/strong> can travel to Jersey <strong>with their national identity card<\/strong>,<br>but <strong>for day trips only<\/strong> (<em>day trip<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conditions are :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>They cannot <strong>not work<\/strong> on site.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They cannot <strong>stay no longer than one day<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They cannot <strong>do not apply for public aid<\/strong> (public funds).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are <strong>not authorized to travel to other territories<\/strong> Common Travel Area (United Kingdom, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Ireland).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/en\/blog\/do-you-need-an-eta-to-visit-the-anglo-norman-islands-of-jersey-guernsey-etc\/\">This contradicts our article of last Friday on the subject<\/a>. Guernsey has made this CNI possibility official for French nationals until 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We can't say whether the sign has been forgotten or whether it still applies. If in doubt, take a valid passport.
