India has added a new nationality to its visa on arrival program<\/a> (Visa on Arrival or VoA)<\/strong>. Citizens of the United Arab Emirates are now eligible for this new facility for entry into India. Eligible travelers can now use this facility in nine international airports<\/strong>, and make an unlimited number of annual visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This recently announced decision aims to simplify travel procedures for UAE nationals and to further strengthen bilateral relations<\/strong> between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitating travel for Emirati citizens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The expansion of VoA is a response to the growing number of Emirati visitors, and is part of a wider effort by India to make entry processes more efficient for foreign travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The updated system makes VoA available at three additional airports: Cochin, Calicut and Ahmedabad<\/strong>. These airports join existing facilities in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Kochi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visa covers travel for a variety of reasons, including business, tourism, medical treatments and conferences<\/strong>. Once issued, the VoA permits a stay of up to 60 days<\/strong>. There is a possibility of two entries in this period if a double-entry visa is granted. Travelers can use this facility several times a year<\/strong>, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is important to note that the VoA cannot be extended or converted to another type of visa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eligibility conditions and restrictions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although the program aims to simplify entry, strict eligibility requirements remain:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Visa required :<\/strong> The VoA is reserved exclusively for United Arab Emirates passport holders who have have previously obtained an Indian e-Visa or a regular visa<\/strong>. Authorities advise first-time visitors to obtain an e-Visa or paper visa before using the on-arrival option for subsequent trips.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Restriction linked to Pakistan :<\/strong> Ease of use does not apply<\/strong> any national of the United Arab Emirates who, or whose parent or grandparent, was born in or has permanent residence in Pakistan<\/strong>. These travelers should continue to submit their applications through the Indian diplomatic missions closest to their place of residence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    How do I make a request?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    To obtain the VoA, travelers must have a valid passport with at least six-month validity<\/strong> and two blank pages. They must also present a completed application form<\/a>, a landing card and passport photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Immigration officers are authorized to ask for proof of accommodation, sufficient funds, and return or onward tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Requests can be submitted online in advance or completed directly on arrival. From consular fees<\/strong> apply to every passenger, including children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This simplification makes it easier for nationals of several countries to enter India.
