A decree signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin has formalized visa-free entry for Chinese citizens traveling to Russia<\/strong> for tourist or business travel. This new policy, which extends from December 1, 2025 to September 14, 2026<\/strong>, allows holders of ordinary Chinese passports to enter and stay in Russian territory for a maximum period of 30 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The order, cited by the Russian news agency TASS<\/a> and also reported by Chinese state broadcaster CCTV News, states that Chinese citizens can take advantage of this visa exemption for various reasons. These include business or guest visits, tourism, participation in scientific, cultural, socio-political, economic, or sporting events, as well as transit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bilateral exchanges between Russia and China<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This Russian decision is being implemented in accordance with the principle of reciprocity<\/strong>. China had announced that it would test a visa exemption policy for Russian citizens holding ordinary passports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Chinese trial policy began on September 15, 2025, and will also end on September 14, 2026.<\/strong>. According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, Russian citizens can enter China without a visa for a period not exceeding 30 days if they are traveling for business, tourism, visiting friends or relatives, exchanges, or if they are in transit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
