What's new: back to simplicity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Mexico's Secretariat of External Relations (SRE) has made official the reactivation of the Electronic Authorization System <\/strong>for Brazilian passport holders. In concrete terms, this means the end of the physical visa requirement (requiring an appointment at the consulate and a sticker in the passport) for the vast majority of tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This measure is designed to facilitate tourism and short business trips, but there are strict rules that must be respected to avoid being denied boarding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Transport mode<\/em> : <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the critical point of this reform: the electronic authorization is only valid if you land at a Mexican airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arrival by air :<\/strong> Electronic authorization is accepted.
Arrival by land or sea :<\/strong> A physical consular visa is still required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. The reason for the trip<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do I obtain a Mexico E-Visa?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For travelers, the procedure is once again paperless. Here are the key steps to guarantee document validity:
Online form :<\/strong> The request is made on the official portal<\/a>.
Data entry :<\/strong> It is crucial to fill in the information exactly as it appears on the Brazilian passport (beware of accents and double names).
Lead time :<\/strong> The response is usually very quick.
Document printing :<\/strong> Once approved, the document must be printed<\/strong>. Airlines departing from Brazil require the paper version to authorize boarding.
Important note:<\/strong> The SAE has a specific validity window for entry into the country (often 30 days after issue). It is advisable to apply around 2 weeks before departure, rather than several months in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electronic visa application platform remains accessible to nationals of the following countries: Russia, Turkey and Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some Brazilian travelers require neither a physical visa nor an electronic visa. Entry to Mexico is by passport only for holders of :
-A valid visa or permanent residence for the Canada<\/strong>the UNITED STATES<\/strong>, THE Japan<\/strong> or the United Kingdom<\/strong>.
-A valid visa or residency for one of the\u2019Schengen area<\/strong>.
-A permanent residence in Chile<\/strong>in Colombia<\/strong> or to Peru<\/strong> (members of the Pacific Alliance).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many citizens, including Europeans, are not concerned by obtaining an electronic visa<\/a> or the standard visa issued by an embassy. The duration of stay must not exceed 180 days, and visa-free travel is possible for tourism, business, transit, medical or study purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visa issued by the Mexican embassy in your country of residence is a procedure still in force for certain nationalities. In other words, travellers are required to go to the embassy to obtain a paper visa, which is affixed to your passport prior to travel.
