The Vietnamese authorities have just announced the reintroduction of a compulsory health form for anyone crossing the country's borders, with a strict implementation date set for January 1, 2010. <strong>July 1, 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new <strong>Decree no. 165\/2026\/ND-CP<\/strong> was published on May 21, 2026 by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.baochinhphu.vn\/notice-for-viet-nam-bound-travellers-111260521112100387.htm\">Government News<\/a>. <br>A <a href=\"https:\/\/datafiles.chinhphu.vn\/cpp\/files\/vbpq\/2026\/5\/165-ndcp.signed.pdf#page=98\">medical form<\/a> has been communicated and attached to the Decree. This is a national security measure that has a direct impact on your travel logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who's concerned?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The rule is universal. Unlike visa exemptions which apply according to your passport (European, African, American, etc.), the health declaration is mandatory regardless of your nationality.<br>The form is required in three specific cases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Inbound:<\/strong> As soon as you arrive in France, whether by air, land or sea.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Outbound:<\/strong> When it's time to leave the country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Transit:<\/strong> Even if you make a simple connection at Hanoi (Noi Bai) or Ho Chi Minh City (T\u00e2n S\u01a1n Nh\u1ea5t) airport without passing through immigration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Filling in this form requires a little synchronization with your flight plan. Here's what you need to know before you apply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The 7-day rule:<\/strong> The system does not accept advance declarations weeks in advance. You have a strict 7-day window before your entry, exit or transit date to submit your information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language barrier:<\/strong> The Vietnamese Ministry of Health provides this form only in a bilingual version (Vietnamese \/ English). No official French translation is available on the government platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The health declaration form is a formality that <strong>does not replace a visa or e-visa<\/strong>. Depending on the entry conditions adapted to each nationality, the authorized periods of stay with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visamundi.co\/en\/blog\/12-european-countries-join-vietnam-visa-waiver-program\/\">exemptions<\/a> vary from country to country as follows: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>90 days<\/strong> <strong>:<\/strong> Chile and Panama.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>45 days :<\/strong> Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>30 days<\/strong> Belarus, Cambodia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>21 days<\/strong> <strong>: <\/strong>The Philippines <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>14 days<\/strong> Brunei.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All travel formalities for your arrival in Vietnam<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vietnam requires its future travelers to complete various travel formalities, including the electronic visa (e-visa) unless your nationality is exempt, the digital arrival card* and the health declaration (in force as of July 1, 2026).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A mistranslation into English, or a form completed after the deadline, can result in immediate denied boarding by your airline.
