The e-Visa for Saudi Arabia is a simplified official Saudi Arabian government document, enabling travel for various purposes to Saudi Arabia for stays of up to 90 days during the 365-day validity period of the e-Visa, or until the associated passport expires. It can be used for tourism, events, visits to acquaintances or to make the small Umrah pilgrimage(impossible to make the Hajj with this document). It is preferable to obtain the e-Visa before booking a flight.

Saudi medical insurance is compulsory for visiting Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government selects one automatically with your e-Visa, and its cost is included in the consular fee. You are not necessarily required to take out your own insurance.

⚠️ If travelers choose an e-Visa Pilgrimage Umrah, the document will necessarily be marked "Tourism". This is a normal situation for travelers to accept. As the authorities specify, it still allows you to stay in Saudi Arabia as part of the Umrah pilgrimage. Please note that Zamzam water cannot be brought back with this visa.

During the month of Hajj, the Saudi Arabia e-Visa is not valid for arriving in Jeddah or Medina. Other entry points remain accessible. In 2024, e-Visas will not be valid for arriving in Medina or Jeddah (for Mecca) between May 23 and June 19, 2024.

Travellers whose nationality is Algérie🇩🇿 or Maroc🇲🇦 can apply via our system at the same price if :

Your e-Visa is valid for 1 year, so you have 1 year to enter the country.

Do I need a visa to transit Saudi Arabia?

  • Stopover of less than 12 hours with a connecting flight on the same airline:
    Transit visas are not required. During your stopover, you will not be able to leave the transit zone.
  • Stopover of less than 12 hours with a connecting flight on a different airline:
    A transit visa is required, and can be obtained from the nearest Saudi Arabian embassy. Even if you have a transit visa, you are not allowed to leave the transit zone.
  • Stopover of more than 12 hours and less than 96 hours with a connecting flight on the same or a different airline:
    A transit visa is required. After 96 hours, the stay is no longer considered as transit, and we suggest you opt for the e-Tourist Visa. Saudi airlines (only) offer their travelers the possibility of applying for a 96-hour transit visa when booking a flight to Saudi Arabia. The online process is free of charge, and is carried out on the airline's website.

Saudi Arabia: what travel reasons are authorized with e-Visa?

Can I apply for an e-Visa for the Hajj pilgrimage?

The Hajj visa must be requested from the embassy or a specialized agency.

Can I use my e-Visa to buy and return ZamZam water?

If you wish to perform the religious pilgrimage of Umrah and benefit from the virtues of this sacred water, you must apply for a visa from a Saudi embassy/consulate in order to request an Umrah or Hajj visa. With this travel authorization, you'll be able to visit all the holy sites, without restrictions, and you'll also be able to drink Zamzam water. For all travelers, it is forbidden to carry bottled water back to your home country.

Does the e-Visa also apply to minors?

Minors can also have an e-visa. This must be linked to the e-visa of an adult accompanying them on their trip.

I have a Moroccan, Algerian or Tunisian passport. Can I apply for a Saudi e-Visa?

Moroccan and Algerian nationals are eligible for eVisa (via our form) for those under 60, only if they hold a resident permit for the United States, United Kingdom or European Union OR a visa valid for at least one year for the Schengen area, United States or United Kingdom, used at least once.

(Tunisians are currently experiencing difficulties obtaining eVisa).

What's the difference between a traditional visa and an e-visa?

A classic visa is applied for at an embassy and will appear in your passport. The electronic visa or e-visa allows you to apply online. Not all nationalities are eligible for e-Visa.

Do my travel dates have to be exact?

The e-visa is valid for 1 year from the date of issue. Travel dates may therefore be subject to change.

Saudi Arabia: mandatory and recommended vaccines

Mandatory vaccines

  • Meningitis: Required for adults and children over 2 years of age traveling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah or Hajj. Vaccination with one of the following vaccines is acceptable:
    - Tetravalent polysaccharide vaccine (ACYW) administered within the last 3 years;
    - Meningococcal tetravalent conjugate vaccine (ACYW) administered within the last 5 years.
  • Poliomyelitis: A certificate is required for travellers from areas of active transmission of wild or vaccine-derived poliovirus and countries at risk of polio reintroduction (Afghanistan, Mozambique, Myanmar, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Somalia and Yemen).
  • Yellow fever: A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required for entry into the country for travelers over 9 months old from countries where there is a risk of yellow fever transmission, and for travelers who have been in transit through an airport in a country where there is a risk of yellow fever transmission for more than 12 hours.
