Cambodia Makes e-Arrival Mandatory from July 1
The Cambodian government has mandated the digital e-Arrival system starting July 1, replacing paper forms nationwide and streamlining immigration, health, and customs declarations.
The Cambodian government announced in late 2023 the launch of a new digital entry system, dubbed "e-Arrival", marking the beginning of a phased transition. During the initial testing phase, travelers could still opt for traditional paper forms upon arrival. However, starting 1 July 2024, using the digital e-Arrival card will become mandatory for all visitors, including foreign nationals and Cambodian citizens.
Transition Timeline and Rollout
According to Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior, the testing phase began on 1 January 2024 and runs through 30 June 2024. During this time, travelers were given the choice between completing the digital system or using paper forms. From 1 July 2024 onwards, the electronic Arrival Card will be compulsory for all arrivals.

How the e-Arrival System Works
The e-Arrival system consolidates what were previously multiple paper forms into a single digital submission, streamlining three key processes:
Immigration form
Health declaration
Customs declaration
By merging these requirements, the system aims to reduce processing times and ease congestion at border checkpoints across the country.
How to Obtain Your e-Arrival Card
Application Platforms
Travelers can submit their e-Arrival card through two official channels:
The Cambodian government’s official portal: www.arrival.gov.kh
The dedicated mobile app Cambodia e-Arrival, available via the App Store and Google Play
The portal is available in seven languages—Khmer, English, Mandarin, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, and Korean—to support international visitors from diverse linguistic backgrounds.
Submission Deadline
Travelers must complete and submit their e-Arrival application no earlier than seven days before their scheduled arrival in Cambodia.
Required Information
The e-Arrival form collects key traveler details, organized as follows:
Category | Required Information |
|---|---|
Personal Details | Full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number |
Travel Details | Arrival date, departure date, purpose of visit, mode of transport |
Flight Information | Airline, flight number |
Accommodation | Type of lodging, hotel name and address |
Itinerary | Last city before entry, next city after exit |
Health | Recent symptoms, countries visited in the 14 days before arrival |
There are no consular fees charged for submitting the e-Arrival Card directly through official channels. Third-party service providers may apply separate processing charges.
Validation and Compliance
Once submitted and verified, travelers receive a unique QR code. This code must be presented to Cambodian immigration authorities upon arrival.
Relationship to Existing Visa Requirements
It is important to understand that the e-Arrival system does not replace any existing visa requirements. Travelers must still obtain the appropriate visa for their visit to Cambodia. However, the platform allows for pre-booking of several e-Visa types upon arrival, including:
Tourist Visa (T)
Ordinary Visa (E)
Diplomatic Visa (R)
Official Visa (B)
Courtesy Visa (C)
Transit Visa (D)
Special Visa (K)
In an effort to bolster tourism, the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism has recently launched its 2024 promotional campaign, “Cambodia: Kingdom of Wonder – Feel the Warmth.” The initiative highlights the country’s cultural richness, natural splendor, and famed hospitality.
