Hajj 2025: Children Banned, New Visa Rules Announced
Saudi Arabia enforces a historic ban on children at Hajj 2025, tightens visa rules, and reintroduces three-installment payment options to prioritize new pilgrims and enhance crowd safety.
Saudi Arabia has announced new regulations for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage, prioritizing safety, crowd control, and logistical organization. Among the measures is a historic ban on children under 18 from participating, alongside tightened visa restrictions and revised payment options.
Ban on Children
In an unprecedented move, children will not be permitted to perform the Hajj in 2025. Authorities state that managing massive crowds in high-risk environments makes the presence of young children particularly hazardous. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah emphasized that safety concerns and the need for smoother logistical flow necessitate this exclusion.

Priority for First-Time Pilgrims
2025 Hajj pilgrims participating for the first time will be prioritized. This decision aims to ensure that as many Muslims as possible can complete this fundamental pillar of Islam at least once in their lifetime.
New Payment Options
Saudi nationals and residents now have access to three-installment payment plans. An initial 20% deposit is required within 72 hours of booking, followed by equal 40% payments before 20 Ramadan (20 March 2025) and 20 Shawwal (19 April 2025). Registrations remain pending until final payment is received.
Visa Restrictions |
The 2025 Hajj is scheduled to take place from 4–6 June to 11 June. Saudi citizens and residents can register via the Nusuk app or the official Nusuk portal. Prospective pilgrims are urged to double-check their details and ensure all travel companions are properly registered.
