How to Apply for the Mozambique e-Visa
The official e-visa can be requested through the government portal. The government has stated a processing time of approximately five business days. Multiple e-visa categories are available, covering travel for tourism, business, investment, humanitarian work, sports, cultural visits, or as a crew member.
A special “Border Visa” (e-Visa à l’arrivée) is offered for travelers arriving via specific airports and land entry points or those invited by Mozambican residents. Confirm with your airline whether you qualify for this visa-on-arrival option.
Fees depend on visa type, number of entries, and duration of stay. Each e-visa specifies a maximum permitted stay period.
To complete the online application, the following documents are required:
A copy of your valid passport (must remain valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay);
A recent color passport photo;
Proof of financial means for the duration of your trip;
A hotel reservation or a letter of invitation issued by a tour operator or travel agency;
An inbound and outbound travel ticket, whether by air or sea—this is mandatory.
When filling out the form, you must provide your passport details, personal information, profession, destination address in Mozambique, and travel transport details (number and arrival method).
