AOK Pass tested by Air France for Caribbean flights

Air France is trialing the AOK Pass digital health certificate on select Caribbean routes. Using QR codes from Biogroup and Cerballiance labs, travelers can streamline PCR result verification and prepare for scaled international transport recovery.

The principle is simple: travelers download the dedicated AOK Pass app to certify the validity of their PCR test results via a QR code. This enables agents to verify health status efficiently at boarding, reducing delays compared to traditional paper documents.

Only labs affiliated with Biogroup and Cerballiance can issue results through the app. The QR code is sent directly to the traveler's device once results are finalized, and this is what must be presented during airport checks.

The month-long pilot aims to restore air travel operations as smoothly as possible in a low-volume environment while preparing for the surge in travelers once travel restrictions ease.

The trial is running on flights to Guadeloupe and Martinique. If you're looking for a reason to book a ticket, consider discovering—and supporting—the incomparable beauty of Martinique. Explore highlights and itineraries across this Caribbean jewel.

With its legendary cuisine, powder-white beaches, and lush landscapes, Martinique and Guadeloupe attract visitors year-round. Despite higher-than-average costs, visitors are drawn by the year-round mild climate, relaxed pace of life, and unforgettable experiences from hiking volcanic peaks to exploring storied towns like Saint-Pierre and Fort-de-France—where chartering a sailboat for inter-island cruises is a must.

Beyond natural wonders, Martinique dazzles with one of the Caribbean’s most vibrant Carnivals. The event stretches from Fat Sunday to Ash Wednesday, filling the streets with color and rhythm. Jet-lag weary visitors often plan 14-day getaways to enjoy the festivities fully—many retire here permanently to call this slice of paradise home.
