Bahrain Added to India’s e-Visa Eligible Nationalities

India expands its e-Visa program to include Bahraini travelers, enabling streamlined online visa applications for tourism, business, medical, and study purposes.

India has announced the launch of an electronic visa (e-Visa) system for Bahraini nationals planning to travel to India. The news was shared on Thursday, 10 July 2025 by the Indian Ambassador to the small Gulf state, Vinod K. Jacob, via a social media post.

The e-Visa system continues to gain popularity for simplifying travel to India, providing an alternative to traditional physical visas. Visamundi, a visa agency, confirmed that the official website of the Indian Embassy in Bahrain had been updated on Saturday, 12 July, accordingly.

How Bahraini Nationals Can Apply for an Indian e-Visa

Eligible citizens of Bahrain may submit an e-Visa application in the following steps via the centralised Indian visa portal:

  • Visit the Official Website: Go to the Indian Visa Online site at https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html or use a registered agency familiar with the process.

  • Select Nationality: Choose Bahrain from the drop-down menu of eligible nationalities.

  • Choose Visa Type: Select the appropriate visa category and duration from the available options. These include e-Tourist Visa, e-Business Visa, e-Medical Visa, e-Medical Attendant Visa, e-Conference Visa, e-Ayush Visa, e-Ayush Attendant Visa, e-Student Visa, and e-Student Dependant Visa.

  • Complete Online Form: Fill out the online application with your personal details, travel itinerary, passport information (upload of the biographical page), a passport-style photo, and any required supporting documents specific to your visa category.

  • Submit Payment: Pay the e-Visa fee.

  • Receive e-Visa: Upon approval, the e-Visa will be sent to the email address provided during submission. The standard processing time is 3–5 business days.

  • Travel and Get Stamped: Enter India with a printed copy of your e-Visa; the electronic visa will then be endorsed on your passport at the port of entry.

The official Indian e-Visa portal has updated the list of eligible nationalities, as confirmed by the agency:
