Kuwait Launches New e-Visa System to Modernize Entry Requirements
Kuwait introduces a streamlined electronic visa platform offering four visa types for tourists, families, business travelers, and diplomats. Find out who qualifies, how to apply, and what’s next for regional mobility.
The State of Kuwait has rolled out a new electronic visa (e-visa) platform, marking a significant milestone in its digital modernization and international connectivity drive. This initiative aims to streamline and expedite entry procedures for both travelers and residents while supporting the country’s ambition to become a regional hub for tourism, commerce, investment, and international cooperation
Four e-Visa categories to meet diverse travel needs
Launched via the official online portal, the system now offers four distinct visa types, each tailored to different travel purposes:
Tourist Visa: Valid for up to 90 days.
Family Visa: Allows residents to invite family members for short stays, valid for 30 days.
Business Visa: Designed for professionals attending meetings or negotiations, valid for 30 days.
Official Visa: Reserved for diplomats and government delegations on official missions.
All applications are processed online, with eligibility criteria and step-by-step guidance clearly outlined. This fully digital system minimizes processing times, delivering a smoother user experience.
The dedicated "Kuwait Visa" mobile application enables users to track their application status, and approved e-Visas are delivered directly via the app. Upon approval, the visa is issued as a scannable QR code to be presented at border control.
