Egypt e-visa extension extended to 5 years

Egypt announces e-visa extension up to five years, allowing visitors to stay longer. Learn how to apply and maximize your trip to Egypt's wonders.

The Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly announced on Monday, March 2, during a meeting with the Egyptian Cabinet and officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, that Egyptian visas and e-visas—originally extendable to 90 days—can now be extended up to five years!

A welcome boost for the tourism sector, Egypt continues its efforts to attract visitors back to its shores.

A visa is required to enter Egypt. You can obtain it from an Egyptian consulate, upon arrival in Egypt, or online via the official website or through VISAMUNDI, a specialized agency handling travel formalities.

The tourist e-visa is valid for a single entry, with a validity period of three months, but you may only stay for one month within that timeframe. However, you can extend your stay by visiting an Egyptian immigration office—previously limited to 90 days. Now, the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has announced that the visa can be extended up to five years, allowing travelers plenty of time to explore Egypt’s treasures.
