The Philippines has recently announced a landmark initiative to boost tourism by refunding the 12% VAT to foreign tourists. The measure, set to take effect next year, will allow international visitors to recover VAT on qualifying purchases made in the country.
This move is part of a broader strategy to revive and grow the Philippines’ tourism sector. The program was approved by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. through the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
