South Korea opens borders to tourists without quarantine

South Korea now allows fully vaccinated travelers to enter the country from any destination without the need to isolate. Incheon International Airport—South Korea’s main gateway to Seoul and most international arrivals—expects to welcome up to 20,000 passengers a day. This marks a sharp rebound from pandemic-era totals: before Covid-19, the airport handled around 200,000 passengers daily; at its lowest point during the pandemic, that number fell to just 3,000. By Friday morning, the dedicated quarantine facilities at Incheon and its segregated transit zone had already been dismantled, clearing the way for international travelers to use regular public transport like domestic passengers.
A lifted quarantine remains provisional
