Togo rolls out new e-visa platform

Togo has launched an upgraded electronic visa platform to streamline travel formalities for incoming and outgoing travelers. The digital system introduces vaccine declaration, PCR testing for non-vaccinated travelers, and group applications, expanding to land and sea borders in 2022.

Togo has launched its upgraded electronic visa platform as part of the national travel system overhaul.

This initiative follows the Togolese government’s announcement in February of its plan to digitize visa and residency permit processes for international travelers.

The new platform will enable travelers to:

  • complete their immigration forms (mandatory for all entries and exits)

  • declare their vaccination status

  • and/or register for a PCR test for unvaccinated citizens

Additionally, the platform offers several key features, including:

  • an online ‘Visa Assistant’ tool

  • a user dashboard for storing commonly required travel details

  • the ability to submit group visa applications

Public authorities have stated that the platform and border support systems—currently available at air entry points—will be gradually expanded to land and maritime borders in 2022.

The platform also enables online payment of travel-related fees, allowing travelers to complete all necessary formalities quickly and efficiently.

This innovation is designed to save time and make travel procedures safer and more streamlined.
