Uzbekistan to Offer Visa-Free Entry to U.S. Travelers from January 2026
From January 2026, all U.S. citizens will enjoy visa-free entry to Uzbekistan for up to 30 days, fostering cultural and economic ties between the two nations.
Starting January 1, 2026, Uzbekistan will implement a visa-exemption regime for all U.S. citizens, allowing them to stay for up to 30 days without obtaining a prior visa. Until now, this facilitated access was only available to Americans aged 55 and older for tourist visits, as well as travelers under 16 for short visits up to 90 days accompanied by legal guardians.

Boosting Travel and Exchange
This new policy, formalized by presidential decree, seeks to spur tourism, economic, cultural, and humanitarian exchanges between Uzbekistan and the United States. The measure aligns with the country’s broader strategy of international openness, already applied to multiple nationalities, including those from Gulf countries recently added to the visa-exemption list. Furthermore, Uzbekistan aims to enhance its global tourism appeal while signaling openness to investment and academic collaboration.
Path to a Bilateral Agreement?
Uzbek officials hope this move will pave the way for improved travel conditions for Uzbek citizens visiting the U.S., where visa requirements remain restrictive. The reform could also prompt reciprocal measures from other nations, fostering Uzbekistan’s integration into global mobility and exchange networks.
In short, from early 2026, all American travelers will have the freedom to explore Uzbekistan for up to a month—without visa formalities.
