Algeria: Visa-free entry now possible for expatriate nationals

The Algerian government recently announced a measure significantly facilitating the return of Algerian citizens living abroad. Valid until October 31, 2024This decision allows you to enter and leave the country without needing a visa.

This measure reflects the government's ongoing commitment to supporting its diaspora and simplifying their travel to their home country, especially during the summer vacation periods.

A simplified process for nationals

In this way Algerians holding a valid foreign passport can now travel to Algeria with greater ease. Two options are available:

• Presentation of a biometric national identity card, even if out of dateaccompanied by a valid foreign passport.
• Use of a Algerian biometric passport expired combined with a foreign passport.

This temporary visa waiver is designed to strengthen family and cultural ties, by encouraging visits during the summer months in particular, when many expatriates choose to return to see their loved ones.
