How to Apply and Receive the COP29 Visa
Applications for the special COP29 visa will be accepted exclusively online through the ASAN Visa system, Azerbaijan’s official e-visa portal. Applicants must provide the following:
Personal data
Passport details
COP29 accreditation number
Planned arrival and departure dates
Once submitted and approved, the e-visa will be emailed to the applicant for printing and presentation upon arrival in Azerbaijan.
Eligible Countries and Exceptions
The special COP29 visa is available to nationals of all countries, except Armenia 🇦🇲. Armenian citizens planning to attend COP29 must follow a separate procedure to be announced later by the organizers.
Travelers from the following countries are already visa-exempt for Azerbaijan and will not require the special COP29 e-visa: Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
By offering this free and streamlined visa, Azerbaijan aims to boost participation in COP29 by lowering administrative and financial barriers—particularly for delegates from developing nations. The government hopes this will ensure broader and more inclusive representation in climate discussions. As a major oil and gas producer, Azerbaijan is also positioning itself as a leader in energy transition and climate action while showcasing its role on the global stage.
