Travellers beware! If you are planning to visit Azerbaijan by the end of March 2025, Azerbaijani consulates will remain closed from 20 to 31 March 2025 because of the Novruz and Ramadan holidays. This closure will affect the processing of electronic visas (e-Visas) for the country, an embassy spokesperson has confirmed.

Slower e-Visa processing times

During the closure period, applications for standard electronic visas will neither be reviewed nor granted. Travellers who had planned to submit their applications during this period will need to exercise patience.

Fortunately, not all is lost for those who need to reach Azerbaijan urgently during this period. The urgent e-Visa option remains available even on public holidays. This accelerated process delivers a visa in as little as 3 hours, providing a vital alternative for last-minute trips.

Adjusted closures and Ramadan 2025 timings

United Arab Emirates

Adjusted hours: During Ramadan, working and school hours are shortened. Shops open later, and specific public-behaviour rules come into force.

Philippines: The Philippine embassy in the UAE operates reduced hours during Ramadan: Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m., and Friday 7:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

South Korea

Adjusted hours: South Korea’s embassy in the UAE reduces its hours during Ramadan: Monday–Thursday, 8:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m., and Friday 8:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.

India

Scheduled hours: India’s embassy in Qatar observes special Ramadan hours. Open Sunday–Thursday with two shifts—9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.–9:15 p.m.—closed Friday and Saturday.

Turkey

Adjusted hours: In Turkey Ramadan runs from 1 March to 29 March 2025, with varying fasting hours city by city; daily life adapts through reduced retail and dining schedules.
