Cambodia Slashes e-Visa Fees for 2025, Boosting Tourism Access

From January 1, 2025, the Kingdom of Cambodia will cut electronic visa fees—improving tourism competitiveness while streamlining entry through enhanced e-Visa and e-Arrival processes.

The Kingdom of Cambodia will reduce fees for its electronic visas starting January 1, 2025, making the country more accessible to international travelers. The electronic tourist visa (e-Visa T) will drop from $36 to $30, while the electronic business visa (e-Visa E) will fall from $42 to $35.

This initiative is designed to spur tourism and foreign investment—two cornerstones of the Cambodian economy. The government has also instructed relevant agencies to upgrade e-Visa issuance and the “Cambodia e-Arrival” registration procedures.

Here is the official press release issued on October 19, 2024 in Phnom Penh:

"The Ministry of Public Works and Transport informs the public, economic operators, and domestic and international tourists that, in order to integrate a new ecosystem for entry via e-Visa and e-Arrival, the ministry has announced updated fees for electronic visas e-Visa (T) (tourism) and e-Visa (E) (business) effective October 19, 2024 as follows:

  • e-Visa T: $37 USD (for tourist visits)

  • e-Visa E: $39 USD (for business)

Entry Formalities: Electronic Visa or Visa on Arrival

The electronic visa, introduced in 2006, simplifies administrative procedures for travelers. It can be obtained via the official platform evisa.gov.kh or the mobile app “Cambodia eVisa.” Once approved, the visa is valid for three months and allows a 30-day stay. Travelers may also obtain a visa on arrival at Cambodian ports of entry—however, to streamline your journey and avoid immigration queues, applying for the e-Visa online before departure is strongly recommended.

All nationalities eligible for the online process may also request a visa upon arrival in Cambodia.

How to Apply for an Electronic Visa

To obtain an electronic visa, travelers must:

  1. Complete the online application form

  2. Upload required documents (passport copy and passport photo)

  3. Pay the fee online

The visa is typically issued within 72 hours and must be printed for presentation on arrival in Cambodia.

This fee reduction is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Cambodia’s tourism appeal and facilitate travel to the country.

The e-Arrival Card

Since January 1, 2024, all travelers entering Cambodia are required to complete an online form at https://www.arrival.gov.kh/. The data requested covers immigration, health, and customs to facilitate entry. Eligible ports of entry include:

  • Siem Reap International Airport

  • Phnom Penh International Airport

  • Sihanoukville International Airport

Best Time to Visit Cambodia

The ideal travel period runs from November through March, during the dry season. Key details include:

Recommended Window: November to March, peaking in January and February

  • Minimal rainfall

  • Optimal conditions for visiting top attractions

Periods to Avoid
