Belize Launches Digital Arrival Card System for Travelers

The Belize government introduces a new digital immigration and customs declaration system starting December 1, 2024, streamlining entry and exit processes for travelers at Philip Goldson International Airport and beyond.

The Belize government is rolling out a new digital immigration and customs declaration system, available online from 1 December 2024, to simplify travel. This free and confidential process allows incoming and outgoing travelers to submit their forms before arrival at Philip Goldson International Airport and later at all entry and exit points countrywide. The system is designed for simplicity and to improve border-crossing efficiency.

The digital declaration system launched on 1 December 2024 at Philip Goldson International Airport. It will roll out in phases, expanding to all entry points across the country by March 2025.

The new system delivers multiple benefits for travelers, including:

  • Streamlined process: Completing forms online in advance saves time on arrival and departure.

  • Improved accuracy: Digital submissions reduce manual errors common with paper forms.

  • Eco-friendly travel: Moving to a paperless system supports sustainable tourism in Belize.

Travelers can view and complete the digital forms before their trip using this link: https://belizetravel.immigration.gov.bz/Belize_Digital_Forms/

What if I can’t submit my digital form before arrival?

Paper forms remain valid during the 3-month transition.

During the 3-month transition, paper forms will still be accepted alongside digital submissions. Travelers are encouraged to use the digital option when possible for a more efficient experience.

What information do I need to complete Belize’s travel declaration?

Be prepared to provide personal details, including passport information, arrival date, flight number, address, occupation, marital status, and countries visited in the last 30 days. You will also need to share details about your stay: length of visit, accommodation type, and purpose of visit. Customs information such as luggage count may also be required.

Does Belize have a visa-friendly policy?

Yes. Belize maintains a visa-friendly policy, allowing short-term tourist stays without a visa for nationals of many countries—including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and EU member states.

Will there be dedicated queues for digital declaration users?

In the early stages, separate lanes may not be available. As the system rolls out and becomes widely adopted, dedicated lanes may be introduced to process digital declaration users more efficiently.
