K-ETA: electronic travel authorization for South Korea

The K-ETA is an electronic travel authorization that allows citizens of eligible countries to travel to South Korea without having to obtain a visa. It is valid for a period maximum 90-day stay (depending on nationality) and can be applied for online. Travelers must provide personal information and passport details when applying, which are then verified by the South Korean authorities.

Once granted, this electronic authorization is linked to the holder's passport and is valid for 3 years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.

The current situation for non-visa-exempt travellers

Nationals of other countries who are not among the 27 nationalities exempt from K-ETA must always apply for a visa at the nearest South Korean embassy or consulate before departure.
