Saudi Arabia debuts e-Visa for 2023 FIFA Club World Cup fans
Saudi Arabia introduces an e-Visa for fans attending the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, streamlining entry to Jeddah while demonstrating readiness to host mega-events ahead of 2034.
The Saudi government has introduced an e-Visa for holders of tickets to the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, which will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The initiative aims to simplify administrative procedures for international fans attending matches and provide a seamless experience at this major sporting event.
With Saudi Arabia poised to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, this e-Visa could serve as a key test. Most nations that have previously hosted the tournament implemented similar entry schemes—such as the Hayya Card in Qatar or the Fan Card in Russia.
How to obtain the e-Visa
Fans must first secure their tickets for the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup matches.
Next, they should visit the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (visa.mofa.gov.sa) to apply for the e-Visa, entering personal and travel details (fee: 10.50 USD).
Once completed, supporters will receive the e-Visa via email within the processing window.
Please note: This application process is only available to individuals who hold match tickets for the competition.
Teams and competition dates
The 2023 FIFA Club World Cup is scheduled from 12 to 22 December, gathering continental champions such as Manchester City, Fluminense, Al-Ahly, Auckland City, Club León, and Urawa Red Diamonds. The host nation’s representative, Al-Ittihad, will compete alongside defending champions Real Madrid.
Why this e-Visa matters for Saudi sports and national image
Beyond easing travel logistics, Saudi Arabia’s e-Visa initiative for the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup reflects its ambition to host the event in an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. It further bolsters the country’s international reputation as an open and progressive host of global sporting spectacles, reinforcing its bid to stage the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
