Saudi Arabia Reopens Official Umrah Season 2026/2027 Calendar
Saudi Arabia has announced the restart of the Umrah season calendar for 2026/2027, opening international pilgrim visa applications on May 31, 2026. Here’s what you need to know about the key deadlines and digital processes.
Saudi Arabia has relaunched the new Umrah season with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirming the opening of applications for international pilgrims. Since 31 May, Umrah visa applications are being accepted by Saudi authorities, after a temporary suspension to accommodate the Hajj pilgrimage held in May.

The official Umrah season 2026/2027 calendar
To ensure smooth international arrivals and meet the hospitality targets of the Vision 2030 program, Saudi authorities have established a strict timeline. Early planning is essential, especially for international travelers facing variable consular or e-visa processing times depending on their passport country.
Travel Stage | Official Date (Season 1448 AH) | What it means for you
Opening of visas | 31 May 2026 | The first applications are now being processed. This is the ideal time to start your application.
End of visa issuance | 9 March 2027 (1st Shawwal) | After this date, no more Umrah visas will be issued for this season.
Last authorized entry | 23 March 2027 | The final date to enter Saudi Arabia.
Mandatory departure | 7 April 2027 | All pilgrims with an Umrah visa must have left the country.
💡 Our agency’s tip: Do not wait until the deadline in March 2027. Peak travel periods quickly saturate accommodation capacity in Mecca and international flights. We recommend initiating your visa application at least 2–3 months before your planned departure.
Nusuk or the e-Visa portal? The digital process explained
Saudi Arabia has accelerated its digital transformation. Obtaining the visa is now only the first step in your preparation. The government app Nusuk is now the central digital platform, enabling you to:
Generate your Umrah permit — a mandatory e-document for access to Mecca.
Book your visit and prayer slots at the Rawdah (Prophet’s Mosque in Medina).
Validate your identity through a secure QR code system during on-site checks.
International pilgrims must follow one of two pathways:
Obtaining an entry visa: E-Visa for eligible nationalities. The e-visa, linked to your passport number, is issued as a tourist visa. Umrah can be performed under this visa type.
Registration on Nusuk Umrah: The Umrah permit is issued through package options and service providers managing your pilgrimage (accommodation, visits, etc.).
How can our agency assist with your Umrah visa?
When you apply through our services, we handle the e-Visa application (Umrah, tourism, or conference). We process only the e-visa request, submitted via the official Visit Saudi Visa portal. If applying for an Umrah e-Visa, your travel document will be issued as a tourism e-visa. On the official form, we clearly state the travel purpose as Religious/Umrah, ensuring access to holy sites for pilgrimage.
