Saudi Arabia launches new multi-entry 1-year Umrah visa via Nusuk platform
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah introduces a flexible multi-entry Umrah visa valid for one year, streamlining spiritual travel logistics for pilgrims worldwide through the Nusuk platform.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has improved access conditions for pilgrimage with the launch of a new multi-entry Umrah visa valid for one year. This reform aims to streamline the organization of spiritual stays for travelers worldwide, particularly pilgrims who often face complex travel logistics.

Meet the new Umrah visa
The goal of this visa is clear: allow pilgrims to split their visits over a full year without having to repay and restart a full consular procedure with each trip.
Total validity: 365 days (1 year) from the date of issue.
Authorized stay duration: 90 days maximum.
Calculation method: The 90 days are cumulative. The quota decreases with each crossing of Saudi borders.
Number of entries: Unlimited (within the strict limit of remaining 90 days of stay).
⚠️ Key restriction: This visa does not allow entry into Saudi territory during the official Hajj season. It is exclusively reserved for Umrah and visits outside the period of the major pilgrimage.
How does the 'suspension and reactivation' system work?
This is the truly innovative aspect of the scheme. The visa does not work like a tourist visa for free circulation.
The lifecycle of your visa during travel:
Mandatory prior purchase: Before each new entry into Saudi Arabia, the traveler must purchase a “services package” (accommodation, transport) through an accredited agency via the official platform Nusuk.
Permit request: You must then generate an Umrah permit on the Nusuk mobile app. The dates of this permit must exactly match the dates of the purchased and validated package.
Departure from the territory: As soon as you leave Saudi Arabia, the visa is automatically suspended by customs systems.
Reactivation: For future returns, the visa will automatically reactivate when you meet regulatory requirements again (purchase of a new package on Nusuk).
Any unused days are automatically carried over from one trip to the next.
Expert tip: what to prepare before each departure
For our international travelers, the flexibility of this visa comes with absolute administrative rigor before every flight. A synchronization error could result in immediate denial of boarding at the airport.
Strict timeline management
The duration of your new Nusuk services package must never exceed the remaining days on your visa.
Example: If you have 15 days left on your quota, the Nusuk package you subscribe to for your next visit cannot exceed 15 days.
The Nusuk app requirement
The customs process is 100% digital. Be sure to:
Maintain the Nusuk app updated on your smartphone.
Have an active internet connection upon landing (via e-SIM or roaming) to prove the validity of your permit at biometric checkpoints.
Health and border requirements
While the visa is valid for a year, you remain subject to fluctuating entry requirements (mandatory vaccinations depending on your geographical zone, proof of financial stability). Travelers from the African or Asian continents may face enhanced checks.
For more: The technical interface of this visa requires regular navigation on the Nusuk Saudi portal. Ensure you download the mobile app or have a reliable internet connection to access the online portal. This will allow you to manage your Nusuk profile, book accredited services, and track your day quotas with each new entry.
